Our Tallow Quality Promise

We do not use commercially purchased or deodorized tallow. Many mass-produced tallow products are rendered at very high temperatures, then deodorized and sometimes bleached to remove natural scent and color. This process strips away many of the delicate, skin-loving nutrients that make real tallow so beneficial in the first place.

At Herb House Apothecary, we use only pure suet, never meat trimmings, sourced from a trusted local farm right here in Central New York. We render it ourselves in small batches at low, controlled temperatures to preserve its natural integrity, vitamins, and fatty acid profile. Every jar is handcrafted in our home with care, intention, and respect for the animal.

This is real, traditional tallow, the way it was meant to be.

A Note About Summer Heat:

Please note this is a natural, tallow and oil-based product. With warmer weather, keep it out of direct sunlight or hot cars just in case, and get to your mailbox ASAP. it’s still fully usable if softened, just stick it in a cool location to firm it back up. Consistency will change in high or low temperatures. this is a natural, oil-based product with no stabilizers or fillers!
